– Formed in 2014 primarily to address sustainability issues, CocoaAction representatives took to the stage at this year’s Chocovision to deliver an update on their progress.
CocoaAction is a voluntary, industry-wide strategy that aligns the world’s leading cocoa and chocolate companies, origin governments and key stakeholders on regional priority issues in cocoa sustainability. It convenes the sector in order to align complementary roles and responsibilities, leverage scale and efficiency through collaboration, and catalyse efforts to accelerate sustainability in the cocoa sector.
But is this acceleration going ahead as fast as it needs to? At Chocovision 2016, Barry Parkin, chairman of the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) was joined by four key representatives from CocoaAction to update on their progress and highlight the areas that still need work.
