I have a confession to make. You see, my growing number of much loved readers, the fact is that I am finding it increasingly difficult each month to write about mundane subjects, like the chocolate eating competitions in America that I was going to cover. I just end up thinking 'Well now, what extreme ignorance'. Or how the Olympic smog will suffocate the gasping athletes in Beijing - 'they decided to hold the games there so what did they expect?

Putting on his serious head, Angus Kennedy gets out his crystal ball and predicts a tough time ahead for the UK economy... but hopes that we will all turn to chocolate for comfort!

Well I know you won't believe me, but not so long ago in Candid, I made a brave prediction that there was a big property crash on the way in the UK. It's now cooking nicely in the oven and it's too late to take the old plucked bird out and make it walk again. She's well and truly cooked.

I am writing this at a timely moment - I am just about to go and buy Easter Eggs for my kids at lunchtime. It makes me feel almost the same as when I buy my wife cigarettes. They all love chocolate, but like Labrador dogs, they don't know when to stop and will keep eating until they are violently sick!
