One or two people have asked me where I am in the photo on my blog. Actually I was lying upside-down on a gravestone (a really horribly wet one too I remember). But you know what? After a while it was quite comfortable. And there is a reason why I did it.
I am never really that far away from my grave so I thought I should get comfortable with the idea and try a rehearsal when I had a choice. It wasn’t that bad really, quite a peaceful experience. If I think about it, and this depends entirely on how you look at it of course, but each day I edge inexorably closer to my grave. OK, not as fast as my ostrich friends here but it is hauntingly certain that I am nearer to my grave tonight than I was yesterday when I was consuming my nasty regular tuna and sweet corn stale and quite horrid sandwich in the office. But surely better than an ostrich sandwich
But if I do think about it more (and think less of my feathered freinds), my time is finite and there are only so many hours that I will have to write books, blogs and magazine columns and general nonsense before my time is up. So how can I be sure I will not die before I have said what I have to say? How will I know if my job on earth is done?
It’s probably better not to think about all this and carry on eating bad sandwhiches. Like that crazy mile long ostrich Sandwhich that they made in Iran. Obviously a very important thing to do before you die. Really helps the world become a better place doesn't it. WE ALL NEED A MILE LONG OSTRICH SANDWICH IMMEDIATELY!
So it’s a good thing to do, you know, lie on your grave when you are living and not dead. I did it for a bit and decided that I wanted to get up and walk home and get writing again and go and do my thing which was to write about how silly it is to make an ostrich sandwich like that. So here’s to making a difference to the world when you are alive, you sure as hell are stuffed if you want to do anything about it when you are dead! These ostriches survived the big sandwich. Which one is your favourite brid and why? They clearly have very different characters!

......Yes, a fantastic lucky guy who , maybe, never had felt close to death, otherwise, probably he had never been photographed in a gravestone.
When someone has come close, will not think if he will have time to do whatever wants to, or if he has done all he had to be done on earth.
The thoughts are: make, move, act,........even when sometimes is hard !.
Time is a relative measure and meaning totally changes; you just think: now, this is the time and you will not need the silence, on the contrary, you will look for the noise of the life, ...........the contact with the people and the illusions for something different to eat ........., probably a delicious sandwich of Spanish omelette.
Since we are in moments of crisis....... is exquisite, economic and very healthy...... , better than eating an ostrich sandwich, believe me!
Sure, time is finite and very valuable but bad moments or graves are not necessary to remember it, ........... Only is necessary to awaken in life and live !.
Take your time . Give a bite to a good Spanish sandwich , close the eyes and you will be under the sky and surrounded by the sun.
