Angus Kennedy got very excited this month when he went for a psychic reading and was told about the great things he would achieve.
Something very odd happened to me over the weekend. Well, it may appear odd to others but actually it seemed quite natural to me, which I was very pleasantly surprised about.
It was the 21st June and, being a special day in the lunar calendar, I decided to do something a little different. But what could I do to tune into this festival of light? I decided that the most obvious answer was to go for a psychic reading. I would add, that this is not something that I do very often. But it was only £18 for a 'sitting' and one can blow this amount of money all too easily on a nasty, dry lamp-baked, pub lunch.
So, my wife and I decided to each go off independently for a reading while we took it in turns to mind the kids. Then, in the evening, we could meet up at home and discuss our readings over a nice bottle of cooled French Rose, whilst gazing across the river valley in our back garden... plan set. I think that these dates are set for a reason so why not try something different to make life a bit less ordinary! If you ask anyone interested in the Wicca Bible (although they are hard to find) they will tell you that the 21st June is a very special night, with magical mystical powers.
I was the first to go to see my medium. Actually, just the peace of sitting quietly with the medium as we both meditated was alone worth the money! My medium was a beautiful person. Her smile projected itself so convincingly onto my face that I kind of smiled to fit the image. By the way, I took my wedding ring off, dressed down and did not say a word before it began - a top tip if you go for a reading don't say anything before it starts.
Inspired
I came home feeling inspired. My wife too. For the price of £36 we had both enjoyed a good session with very talented mediums. Do I believe in this sort of thing? Does it matter? What gives pleasure gives pleasure it's as simple as that and we all have our own hulls to glide the water. So, I hear you asking, what did the medium say? Nothing of the past or the future was mentioned. It wasn't the sort of reading where you are told that your cat is going to be sick next Thursday and that you will be going away somewhere nice next month. No, I am both sceptic and believer, some mediums are rubbish and some, quite frankly, are brilliant.
I was told that all the energy and my work in the past (now we are going back hundreds of years!) have come to meet at this moment to act upon. Act on what? 'Trust' she said. To go where? 'Fulfilment' she said, 'and happiness'. "You are going to achieve great things and to provide some kind of message." Yeah really, it spooked me out. You know what? I have the message but it doesn't feel right to write it. We hide from our truths, like me now, starting to write about chocolate and then thinking I should write what I wrote.
Kennedy's will soon be launching not just one, but three web sites. We have some fun in store for you. You will be able to network with fellow readers about everything and anything. Even confectionery! Let me know when the world's ready and I'll let it loose.
