Stearinerie Dubois was founded in France in 1820 when Theodose Dubois first began producing stearic acid which was primarily used in the manufacture of candles. In 1970 the company began to produce white and pure stearin for the cosmetics industry and began distributing fatty acids. In the 1980s the company started to produce esters and launched their first stearates such as glycol stearate. Today, the range available from the company is extensive and is used in cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical applications which allows the company is able to bring together its technical know-how about these industries for the benefit of all.

For the confectionery and bakery industries the company produces emulsifiers, sugar esters, MCT oil, mono and diglycerides, polyglycerol polyricinoleate and other specialties used as release agents, surface treatment and glazing agents.

It can offer a wide and versatile range of pan oils which are used by many leading confectionery producers in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East for the production of all types of candy. All of the polishing agents, coating agents, anti-sticking, separating agents and other aids for panning, polishing and belt release agents offered by the company are allergen-free, GMO-free and Kosher-certified.

Stearinerie Dubois currently has two production facilities in France, and a joint venture esterification facility in Malaysia, while the company’s vast network of agents and distributors cover the globe.

A perfect polish
The Pan Oil Leader 6000 range promises a perfect polish for hard sugar dragees and hard coated centers. It gives a long-lasting gloss with short polishing times. The product is GMO free, allergen free and is certified Kosher.
The Pan Oil Leader RS 9000 is designed to give a polished finish to chocolate flavoured coatings, dark or milk chocolate panned confectioneries. It gives a long-lasting gloss when the panned confectionery is stored correctly and sealed with an appropriate sealing agent such as the company’s Pan Oil Leader GL9001.

Pan Oil Gum Gloss AB 7713 is an anti-sticking coating agent for use on moulded gums and liquorice. It can be applied at room temperature, and consists of a dispersion of carnauba and beeswaxes in a vegetable oil and contains natural E vitamin and citric acid.

It promises a perfect finish for jellies, gums and liquorice, preventing them from sticking together and drying out, whilst also enhancing their shine and transparency features. It is recommended for use on gelatin gums, starch gums, pectin gums, wine gums, and liquorice confectionery. The company is continually developing its range to ensure it keeps up with current, and future, industry demands. For example its Pan Oil Leader HIS, Pan Oil Leader 777, and Pan Oil Leader Solide Special, are now also available without the inclusion of soya lecithin. These variants have been developed specifically to help confectionery manufacturers meet the growing demand for ‘friendly label’ products.

This move follows changes in legislation which requires confectionery producers to also declare details of the release agent used, if they contain products included in the allergen list. 

Stearinerie Dubois has also replaced lecithin with another emulsifier in its liquid release agent for cooling belts – PAN OIL LEADER INDUSTRIE RPG. This release agent is recommended for use in the production of all sweets. It is sprayed at strategic spots on the production line where sticking may occur – sizing rollers, rope spinners, cold tables, conveyer belts, etc. It is also recommended for all dough and batter applications, for use on conveyor belts, and moulds.
