Chocolate event ‘a major success’

The first Chocolate Industry Network event has been described as ‘a major success’ by attendees from across the confectionery sector.
Organised by Kennedy’s Confection magazine, the event took place at the Grange Holborn Hotel, London on 26 November. Speakers from major companies – as well as celebrities – discussed every aspect of the confectionery industry and the evening was rounded off with champagne and a dinner.
Speakers included: Pekka Rantala, Fazer; Peter Meadows, California Raisins; Boyd Tunnock, Tunnock’s; Sophi Tranchell, Divine Chocolate; Francisco Redruello, Euromonitor International; Willie Harcourt-Cooze, Willie’s Cacao (UK); Judi James, body language expert; and Angus Kennedy, Kennedy’s Publications.
Chris Shaw, editor, Kennedy’s Confection, said: “The Chocolate Industry Network event surpassed all our expectations and we’re delighted with the positive feedback we’ve received. The idea was to bring the industry together and get people talking to each other – something that is increasingly difficult to achieve in this day and age.
“I must thank our supporters, without whom the event would not have been possible. And, from the comments we’ve received, the Chocolate Industry Network looks set to become a critical occasion to add to the industry’s calendar.”
