California Raisins announce Future Baker competition
Previous Winners20th Jan – The yearly competition run by California Raisins to determine the Future Baker Of The Year has been confirmed for 2012.

It is said to be the only competition of its type in the UK, and baking industry figureheads Hugh Weeks and Colin Lomax have been appointed to lead the team of judges for this year’s event. First prize for the competition is a week’s bakery course at the Richemont School in Switzerland.

The first stage of the competition will run from March to May where individual colleges throughout the UK will be visited, where teams of three will be judged for the chance to reach the final at Alton Towers in June.

Dee Cassey, Marketing Manager for California Raisins, commented: “This competition will not only give the college the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in bread making, confectionery, savoury and innovation using California Raisins, but also allow students to showcase their abilities”.
