Bühler’s acquisition of Leybold Optics has been approved without any restrictions by the competent antitrust authorities. Originally announced in April 2012, the deal will enable Bühler to expand its Advanced Materials division into the field of equipment for manufacturing of functional layers. Both companies are said to be ‘highly satisfied’ by this outcome.

Leybold Optics will be integrated as a new business unit in the Advanced Materials division and continue to be headed by the existing management. The company’s association with Bühler offers it prospects of actively sharing growth and taking advantage of the benefits of the global Bühler platform.
